Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

A photographic composition. I once was buried in the cold and dark place of my diagnosis. What I’ve discovered is that you must be buried to bloom. These flowers represent my regenerated spirit, my new outlook, and the beauty that has bloomed in me by way of the dirt that is Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. As I adapt to the new life I’ve been planted in and learn to extract the good from this terrible, life-altering disease, I begin to flourish. My eyes behold a life, in many ways, more beautiful than before.
