I often find my youthful self-juxtaposed against the word “chronic.” As I walk on the path of life, my chronic illness trails behind. As I look to the future, my disease is there, waiting. Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis is a burden that I must bear, but I find that words help me carry the weight. I hope my words soothe and comfort, dissolving feelings of shame and isolation in anyone battling an autoimmune illness.
