I can cope with the stiffness. I can cope with the pain. I can cope with the lethargy. I can cope with not being able to do the things I used to do.But the cognitive decline is the most anxiety producing symptom and side effect of autoimmune conditions and the treatments of them. Especially since both of my daughters succumbed to autoimmune conditions in their young adulthood. My ability to remember them, the times we had together is the most treasured aspect of what is left of me. So I had to write about how tentative my grasp is on those memories. That idea presented itself to me as a cat.
