A Path Anew

Psoriasis

Avoiding the mirror, every day
For skin that’s marked, it betrays.
Embarrassment, anxiety
It’s hard to face society.
Oh! I am more than this, I won’t be cut down
I’ll rise above, and wear my crown.
I’ll walk with pride
I am strong, I will not hide.
I’ll reject the shame,
I’ve learned to love, and accept my flame.
I stand, with courage and pride
And face the world, glorified.
I am me, without confines
With psoriasis, my soul still shines.
And though the journey can be tough,
I’ll keep on fighting, with grace enough.
I am worthy, without chagrin
And I’ll always love, this skin I live in.
