World Autoimmune Arthritis Day ’15: Nonprofits Offer Support

It’s World Autoimmune Arthritis Day/Week 2015 (WAAD 2015), coordinated and hosted by the amazing nonprofit International Foundation for Autoimmune Arthritis.

The free, all-online event runs from May 15 at 12 noon Eastern – May 21 at 12 noon Eastern for autoimmune arthritis patients and supporters!

Register here anytime during the week to participate.

Autoimmune arthritis covers the following conditions:

  • Ankylosing Spondylitis
  • Axial Sondylitis
  • Juvenile Arthritis
  • Lupus (SLE)
  • Psoriatic Arthritis
  • Relapsing Polychondritis
  • Rheumatoid Arthritis
  • Scleroderma
  • Sjogren’s Syndrome
  • Still’s Disease
  • Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease
  • Undifferentiated Spondyloarthropathy
  • Vasculitis

The last two years have been an amazing learning experience and a brilliant way to make new connections with other autoimmune friends, and this year’s new format looks intriguing.

2015’s World Autoimmune Arthritis Day/Week is set up as a metaphor of a virtual ‘car race’ — learn more on the WAAD 2015’s About page.

24+ autoimmune and chronic pain non-profits are signed up as ‘race cars’ and they are vying for mileage points that they earn during the week in the following ways:

  • Registration (all registrants select 3 nonprofits to support)
  • Webinar chats
  • Social media messages
  • Website information

All of these online events along the path of the ‘car race’ will bring more awareness, information, and disease management options about the many autoimmune arthritis resources available out there — some you know about, and some that are less well-known.

As participants, you can also collect mileage points by participating in the live chats/webinars held by the nonprofits and WAAD, and live awareness action tasks, which you can find on the World Autoimmune Day website and their social media – Facebook and Twitter – pages.

At the close of the week next Thursday, May 21, WAAD will count up all of the points and award the top 5 nonprofits and top 5 individual participants the winner of WAAD15.

Enjoy the week and if you have any questions or comments about this year’s or past events, please add them below!
